Food, Football and a Limping Dog

So with my last post, Morten was sleeping off his vet trauma. When he awoke he was limping and has been in a bad way all weekend. The vet seems to think he might have hurt himself while struggling to escape. He has to have complete rest so we have been carrying him around. Now my lower back is hurting. A lot!

We had cakes to celebrate making it through the first week of school and today maisy made this delicious apple crumble/scone thingy. Perfect comfort food!

Soren had his first match of the football season and was given his proper goal keepers shirt. They won both matches! Phew! (I get a bit stressed while watching).

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for a full week back at school....... Eeeek!

Fiddly

A tricky day so far.
Morten had to have his booster vaccination at the vets. To say he hates the vets is an understatement. He is so petrified that he has to wear a muzzle. It is a horrid thing and he looks like a dog version of Hannibal Lecter.

While on the table he cries and growls and tries to climb up me like a toddler. It is a horrid experience for both of us. Now we are home he has fallen out with me and won't look at me. He has chicken for tea so he might make friends then.

Another tricky customer is the sticky pad. I use these tiny ones to make my 3-D pictures and I tense my shoulders while I stick the lettering. So fiddly and i definitely need my specs!

Morten and I need to relax this afternoon but I have mini cake bunting to make. Morten can sleep..... :)

New start

Yesterday I decided autumn was here (despite the sun) and started to sort out the garden. I bought heathers and pansies and swept up all the leaves, yes leaves ALREADY!!

I really enjoy a bit of pottering. I'm not very green fingered but I get pleasure from putting a few flowers by the front door.

Maisy started high school today and was happy so that is a weight off my mind. Just the boy to go back tomorrow and then that's it. Back in that hamster wheel....

So we're back and it's September (which I love) but before I start taking pictures of leaves, here are a few hot holiday snaps!

Holidays are here!

Yippee the holiday is finally here!
I've packed, cleaned manically (I like to know it will be nice and clean to come back to, bit daft I know) and sent Morten to stay with my sister and her partner. They love him to bits and it is so good to know he is happy. I miss him though because we pretty much spend all our time together. Lovely Morten.

He was not impressed with my hoovering though. He slumped on the sofa till it was over.

I had another picture to get finished too which I fitted inbeween bed washing and gardening. I am silly but I can't help it!

Now I am just waiting for my nail varnish to dry and I'm off to bed. Early start tomorrow then it's hello sunshine!
