Park Life

I have lived in the same area all my life. Sometimes I feel that this is a bit dull, but my local parks make me feel lucky for living here.

I have played as a child, fed the ducks with my children and now walk Morten while the kids are at school. It is beautiful and taking my camera today helped me not to take it for granted.

There is a massive fallen tree that has ended up in the water and perched upon it was a heron. It flew away before I could get closer to take a better picture. I did however, get to see the huge terrapin that lives in our park! The story goes that when the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles were popular, lots of people bought them,(terrapins that is) regretted it, and tipped them in the pond! Apparently the park keepers try to catch him because they can kill the ducklings which is a bit grim. Anyway, he was happily sunning himself today!

P.S. Morten is looking longingly at the station because he loves a train journey!

New!

My cold has evolved. I now have an annoying, exploding, tickly cough.

I also have new shoes to cheer me up!
They were in the sale too. Yippee!

Tomorrow I am going to try and make something with this little selection of treasures. I love having new papers to play with!

Portrait

I have been busy, busy the last 2 days. Mornings have been filled with scenery painting at school and afternoons with a rushed family picture, ordered by a friend.

All this and plenty of sneezing, nose wiping and moaning about how poorly I feel!

Blue Monday

By last night all 4 of us were feeling full of a cold. I feel like at least one of us is ill most of the time lately. Horrid!

As a result there is not much of interest to tell or show you today!

I made a start on packaging my brooches, rescued a snapped flower from the garden and made drink after drink for all of us (in between sneezing and being driven mad by my runny nose!).

Olympic!

Today the Olympic Torch relay came very close to our house so we joined the crowds to cheer them on! It was lots of fun and I am glad we made the effort to get up early.

In other sports news, Soren and Jamie put up their new football goal and had a game. (I provided the refreshments)

Finally, we shall be watching the England Italy match tonight. I don't really like sporty things that much but sometimes it's more about team spirit (and I quite like that!).

Yesterday and Today

Non stop heavy rain here today, and everywhere it seems! Morten is unimpressed and only ventures out when needs must!

Before the rain destroyed them, I took pictures of a few flowers in the garden that had just bloomed. *Sigh*

Soren enjoyed his birthday and we had a few cakes to celebrate. I know he had already had a cake, but I couldn't let the actual day go by without singing Happy Birthday and blowing out candles!

I have put my name down for a stall at the school Summer fair in 2 weeks so am frantically making badges to sell. I am going to try and sell a few of my little box frame pictures too. Here is one appropriate to the weather!

Waiting...

We are all organised for the morning. Soren will be 9 at last!

I hope he likes the surprise in his lunchbox tomorrow (and that Morten doesn't pop the balloons).
