Yes the sun actually shone!
Because of the rain and serious snail damage I had sort of abandoned the garden. I felt so annoyed at having worked so hard only to have all our plants eaten. Even if I had wanted to, I would have struggled to find a dry enough day to cut the grass.
However, today Soren and I got stuck in. He collected as many snails as he could and moved them as far away from the sweet peas as possible. Then he built a trap with a jar filled with beer. I mowed, swept and weeded and while it is not the blooming and productive garden I planned, it looks tidy.
I worked on another family picture while Maisy made these cute pictures of her class mates to give as leaving gifts. Still 2 weeks left at school...

Bits
I didn't get much done today, Maisy was poorly and stayed home from school. She seemed a bit brighter this afternoon and had some tea and biscuits and did a bit of colouring while I made some brooches.
I am trying to get everything sorted for my shop but I keep procrastinating. I think it is because I am nervous. Once it is actually open then I will know for sure if anyone out there wants to buy anything and that is scary. Too scary to think about for long!
Next I cut the grass and then it was time to collect Soren from school. Another day avoiding what I should really be doing!
P.S. Can you spot Morten? :)

Trapped!
Sunny again today and time to inspect the garden!
The Sweet Peas have become quite tall and needed tying up. Morten found this fascinating. He jumped in and was trapped. I only just managed to squeeze him between the canes and free him. Hopefully he might have learned his lesson now!
Our sunflowers and courgette plants have been attacked by slugs! I heard on the radio that sprinkling oats around the plants helps to stop them. Supposedly the slugs love the oats but it kills them. Then if birds eat the slugs, the oats won't harm them. I don't like to use pesticides so I hope this works. I will keep you informed! I also noticed that Soren has added some plastic giraffes to my hanging basket and I have decided they can stay :)
Two of the staff at Maisy and Soren's school will be retiring this summer, so I have been preparing books which will contain drawings and memories from the children they teach. I hope they will like them!
As well as Morten's 3rd birthday, we are going out for Soren's 9th birthday on Sunday. We will be taking a cake to the restaurant and tomorrow I shall be attempting to make these Ugly Dolls out of icing... Wish me luck!

Heat at last
Yes, Summer has arrived!
It was even a bit warm for Morten today and he kept coming back inside to the coolness of our kitchen.
I am keen to add more to the garden but have too much to do this week. So far I have finished another biscuit postcard and begun to paint the scenery for the school production.
There are not enough hours in the day and I don't have the energy to do all I want! Oh well, I will try to be more efficient tomorrow...

Bits and Pieces
A bit of a mixture today! A few photos of the garden we worked so hard on. Morten can't resist the French beans!
I have been looking out of the window a lot and so photographed some of our kitchen bits and bobs. I also finished off and packaged up a christening picture.
I needed to find an old picture of my daughter for school and while I was rummaging in the box I found this funny picture of my sister and I. Don't you love our matching dresses?
There was also time for a trip to the library and a dog walk. Morten was mostly barking and yawning!

Hard Work!
This weekend we have been gardening. We are trying to tidy it up without spending too much money! Soren and Maisy helped me and were both so strong when it came to digging up stubborn roots!
Morten joined in, digging when we did. However, he started to get in the way when we tried to plant the Sweet Peas!
I also finished my 3 Bears print. I have called it 'Just Right' like Mother Bear's porridge!
We plan to garden some more tomorrow but it is forecast to rain. I might need a day to recover... I can feel the aches and pains already!
