Weekend Cooking

I don't know about you but during the week our kitchen resembles a cafe. Everyone needs to eat at different times, early because of football, late because of band. Sometimes I'm tired and can only face making myself a bowl of cereal after I have sorted everything else out. Lazy I know!

I am usual trying to diet/not be greedy on weekdays too so when the weekend comes around I can cook something a bit more ambitious than Shredded Wheat.

So here we have Delia's Twice Baked Roquefort Soufflés and Nigella's Italian Apple Cake.
(Sorry about the dark picture!)

Tonight we have had a take away, followed by Walls Vienetta. Classy and retro!

  1. Both look yummy. Homemade is so worth it when you can be bothered. A well deserved take away me thinks! Love the napkins/serviettes xo

  2. We seem to eat in shifts here and it will get worse as summer approaches. A slice of that apple cake for me please, it looks delicious!

  3. Same here with the cafe kitchen Nick ... and with one fussy eater who won't eat vegetables (although he is a little better now) I spend ages concocting meals which have vegetables hidden in them ... it can be exhausting but I love it when a meal looks as yummy as yours and everyone eats it ... bliss :) ... hope you've had a really lovely weekend ... 4. This post has made me hungry!

I often seem to end up eating porridge for breakfast and supper so I know what you mean :)

  5. Very nice pictures and gorgeous napkins. We don't eat together much during the week so it's important for us to try and eat as a family at weekends if we can. I know it's really bad of me but I love eating dinner with hubby when the kids are fast asleep and sharing some wine and having a lovely chat, without telling the kids to eat their veggies and mopping up spilled juice. :-)
